Grower Testimonial: Providing Del Mar Farms with Actionable Data for Managing Multiple Locations

When Zach Maring of Del Mar Farms reached out to Fieldin in May 2019, he was looking for a remote farm management platform that helped improve their orchard operations stretching across Stanislaus and Fresno counties.

In all, Del Mar Farms grows more than 20 crops (everything from almonds to zucchini) from Westley to Firebaugh, Calif., and also runs integrated picking, packing and shipping enterprises.

Fieldin helps provide Del Mar’s team visibility into its multiple orchard operations, utilizing its smart spraying, harvesting and cultural practices modules to track activities throughout the season.

“The Fieldin platform provides my team the real-time data needed to manage multiple operations and locations continually,” Maring said.

Fieldin’s Control Center equips managers with actionable data for mechanized cultural practices, spray applications and harvesting activities. And managers receive that actionable data in real-time, improving operational efficiencies from anywhere using its user-friendly mobile and web apps.

“Fieldin allows management to evaluate the quality of work performed in farm operations,” Maring added, “with detailed statistics to analyze performance and maximize employee and equipment efficiencies.”

Fieldin complements its platform with customized reporting, alerts and a dedicated grower support representative who trains staff and customizes the platform to the grower’s unique operational needs.

“The information and support Fieldin has provided my farm has exceeded my expectations,” Maring concluded.

Fieldin CEO Presenting at Virtual Summit on AgTech

Fieldin is excited to be presenting at the 2020 Virtual Summit on AgTech, an online conference that runs May 5-7.

CEO Boaz Bachar will be presenting on the “Importance of remote farm management and actionable data to today’s specialty crop farmers.” The presentation will run Wednesday between 4:15 – 4:45 p.m. Eastern.

“We’re looking forward to presenting at the event because real-time data and remote farm management have never been more important to the agriculture industry,” Bachar said. “Especially here in California, in the specialty crop market, growers need remote transparency into their daily field operations. They need data, and they need that data now, in real-time. And that data needs to be easy to use, and it needs to be actionable. That’s where solutions like ours are really coming into play and helping improve visibility on the farm.”

The event’s focus is on expanding access to trends and issues in agriculture and technology and is hosted by the Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

All contributions from registrations will be donated to non-profit partners Feeding America and the National Young Farmers Coalition.
