PODCAST: Fieldin Featured on The Modern Acre

Fieldin was featured today on The Modern Acre Podcast, showcasing its smart farming platform for commercial agriculture.

Western Region business development representative Neil Knaak sat down with Modern Acre’s Tim and Tyler Nuss to discuss technology on the farm, and how Fieldin is helping bring transparency and efficiency to various field activities.

“We take equipment in the field and add a layer of technology to it that now adds some clarity to what’s actually happening,” Knaak said.

The trio went on to discuss Fieldin’s service for smart spray management, which cuts down on missed rows, double sprays and ineffective applications (from driving too fast or too slow).

“The question that’s difficult to answer is: How well as that material actually being applied and what was the effect of that spray?” Knaak said. “That’s the gap Fieldin fills in.”

The trio also went on to talk about smart harvesting and tracking other key cultural practices in real time, and how growers are using the platform to improve harvest activities and catch various errors that occur during other field activities.

PRESS RELEASE:

FRESNO, Calif. (Feb. 7, 2019) – Fieldin has opened a new office in Fresno, Calif, as it continues its rapid growth in California’s Central Valley.

The move to the Bitwise Hive office in Downtown Fresno (2600 Ventura Ave.) will allow the fast-growing AgTech company to continue providing best-in-class service to its growers, expand its team by hiring within one of the state’s largest ag markets, as well as work closer with community leaders, partners and educators to improve its smart farming platform.

Fieldin also has a new office in Israel, where the company was founded in 2013, as well as existing offices in San Jose, Salinas, and recently announced its move into Argentina.

“We’ve been looking forward to this expansion for a long time and are thrilled to be more ingrained in the Fresno-area business, tech and agriculture community,” said Fieldin CEO and Co-Founder Boaz Bachar, who started moving into the new office late last year. “We’ve been working here for a few years now, but this move will allow us to expand more rapidly, and work closer with community leaders, our partners, the local university to hire interns, and will really help round out our expertise in all areas of the agriculture supply chain.”

Fieldin’s smart farming platform helps growers optimize spray applications, harvesting and other critical farm management activities.

Using proprietary sensors and user-friendly software, Fieldin’s technology seamlessly connects in-field sensors, tractors and machinery to provide managers with actionable data that improves production, transparency and efficiency in the field.

“It’s great timing, because we’re getting ready to kick off another season,” said Fieldin COO and Co-Founder Iftach Birger. “It’s important to remain close to our customers and get their feedback and insights to continue evolving our technology. Our platform was created by growers for growers, so we look forward to working closely with our customers and partners, to learn their needs throughout the season.”

Fieldin Signs Cooperation Agreement to Help Argentina Growers Fend Off Pests, Disease

FRESNO, Calif. (Jan. 31, 2019) – Fieldin has signed a cooperation agreement with the Estación Experimental Agroindustrial Obispo Colombres (EEAOC) to help protect the Argentina citrus industry from detrimental pests, bacteria and diseases such as Huanglongbing (HLB). According to the agreement, Fieldin will help the EEAOC monitor and analyze real-time data from more than 5,000 pest traps spread throughout Northern Argentina.

Founded in 2013, Fieldin’s smart farming platform helps growers better understand pest pressures, optimize spray applications and other critical farm management activities.

Using proprietary sensors and mobile-friendly software, Fieldin’s technology seamlessly connects in-field sensors, tractors and machinery to provide managers with actionable data that improves production, transparency and efficiency in the field.

“We’re excited to work with the EEAOC and the growers in Argentina to help prevent the spread of HLB and other threats to the citrus industry,” said Fieldin CEO and Co-Founder Boaz Bachar. “We’ve seen first-hand what invasive species and disease can do to the citrus industry in other regions, and it’s crucial that we leverage real-time field data to get ahead of these issues.”

Bachar, along with Fieldin’s Argentina team, signed the agreement last month in a meeting with EEAOC Technical Director Daniel Plopper in Argentina.

The EEAOC is an autarchic entity in the area of the Ministry of Productive Development of the Government of Tucumán, with a goal of helping advance technology and production in the province’s agriculture industry. Its citrus program aims to improve production for citrus farms by controlling the pests and diseases that affect production and international exports.

“We look forward to working closely with the EEAOC to build forward-thinking solutions for the citrus industry,” said Fieldin COO and Co-Founder Iftach Birger, who first met with the EEAOC on its visit to Israel last year to seek out innovative solutions in the agtech industry.

“It’s refreshing to see a government body move as swiftly as the EEAOC did to help its growers in the fight against HLB and other diseases and pests,” Birger added. “For a lot of these diseases, there is no known cure once trees become infected. So we have to do everything in our power to help identify issues in real-time and prevent the damage from spreading. That’s the power of real-time field data in agriculture.”
